The festivities begin at Noon at 36th & 5th. It’s such amazing experience if you’ve never been. General Admission tickets still available for $29.00.įor All: The crown jewel of it all is the official Pride March! And this year’s Grand Marshals are Sir Derek Jacobi and Sir Ian McKellen. Ruby Rose from Orange is the New Black will be DJing a set. But there are a few rules to follow.Īfter the march join your fellow lady-folk at the all girl dance party Teaze at Pier 26 from 3pm-10pm. Meet at Bryant Park (40th to 42nd Sts between Fifth and Sixth) around 5pm. This event is open to all ladies who like ladies and self-identified women. The march raises awareness about women’s and trans rights. Tickets $15-$20.įor the Ladies: The Dyke March is a protest not a parade, very important to remember but it is an essential part of the weekend. The perfectly titled Furball event will be held at Space Ibiza NY (637 W 50th St) at 10pm. This is a free event.įor the Burly: A dance party for the for the brawny and beardy gentlemen. This will consist of photographs from Gay Pride in New York on the 25th anniversary of Stonewall and the Gay Games in ’94 at LGBT Community Center (208 West 13th Street, Room 210) from 7pm-10pm. Here are some other pride events to cover our bases.įor the Artsy: Opening reception for photographer I-Dea’s The Goddess Within Gay Pride 1994 exhibition. Adore Delano, Ashanti, and many other talent will be performing in the rally. It will be hosted by the fantastic actor Titus Burgess. So at Pier 26 the kickoff to Pride weekend will begin. The Pride Rally tonight will no doubt be an extension of the celebrations from today’s ruling. Like Katy Perry says, “After a hurricane comes a rainbow.” Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that it is legal for all Americans, no matter their gender or sexual orientation, to marry the people they love. It feels even more so because this is the first time a NYC landmark was designated it’s significance solely on it’s history to the LGBT community.Īs history goes a few weeks after the riots at Stonewall 500 people gathered in Washington Square Park to show their gay pride and peacefully show their support. This year feels really special as Stonewall was granted landmark status by New York City’s Landmarks Preservation Commission just days ago.
